12×12 Exhibition – Melbourne

12x12_flyer

Sean and I took a look around the 12×12 exhibition last-night. Lucky for me we turned up early and bought myself a very nice Kid Zoom piece to add to my growing collection of Australian art (along side, Meggs, Drew, TwoOne and Jagi). No Vacancy is between spaces so center management gave them use of an area that’s still under development. Personally I love it – The half finished look is very cool and everyone kept commenting on how fantastic it is. I highly recommend a visit to the show, not only for the art but also for a chance to see the space before No Vacancy settles into their new home.

Deadline – Analogue Pixels.

This is too pretty not to blog.

Working with pixels is extreemly hard, but when the pixels are the size of post-it notes that you have to animate by hand – piece by piece… well, that’s when you go from ambitious to epic.

Here’s how it was made.

My only issue? They should have used a grid in illustrator, it would have made life easier.

In the next few days I’ll publish a “how-to” for stress-free chunky vector pixels. Mmmm tasty!

Funny what turns up when you haven’t cleared the camera in a while – Yes, behind Sean’s head is a Kat doll! My sisters are so clever they collaborated with eachother and designed and made a super accurate likeness of me!
Watch out Sean, She hypnotise you!
