Here’s a skateboard design I made for Vectortuts+, the aim of the tutorial was to demonstrate a few of the new CS4 features (Blob Brush, Multi Artboards, Scaling Patterns and Improved Appearance Panel) while at the same time addressing the technical requirements when designing for a skateboard.
The image itself is very simple, I made it this way so I could cover a variety of pre-press techniques and recolouring without over complicating the project.
This is a Premium Tutorial. Members of the Tuts+ network can download all of my source files and instructions.
Oh man, it’s been ages since I updated my blog and I blame Twitter!
I thought I was keeping everyone clued in with my micro 140 character updates, but with Twitter gold such as “OMFG #qanda” and “I had an undercut in 94!” it seems less and less likely that any of you know exactly what I’m upto (apart from screaming at ABC’s Q&A once week.)
I promise there will be more blogging as soon as crazy time is over, In the meantime - if you’re brave - you can follow my madness on Twitter.

FORMation Alliance’s new iPhone game KERN [App Store] is a bit of a curiousity, but one that seems certain to build a dedicated fan base amongst designers. The gameplay involves properly aligning a letter into its proper place in a specific word and font:
